Get To Know Ben

My passions are deeply rooted. Standing on the coffee table amongst the Lebanese hummus and pistachios, I could be found putting on a show even before I was forming complete sentences. Sharon, Lois, Bram...and Ben!

Joining the church choir and being accepted to Classen School of Advanced Studies in my hometown of Oklahoma City was the next step of that path. I was a drama major in middle and high school and from the age of 12, was performing everything from Moliere to Sondheim, from the Iceman to the Music Man--as well as having an illustrious high school political career as Student Body Prez.

From OK to NY at 18! On my first weekend as a theatre student in New York, I sat in line for hours and hours to see the final performance of Mother Courage and Her Children with Meryl Streep in Central Park--what a welcome wagon...and a spark of inspiration to continue on this journey. I graduated with my BFA in acting from Adelphi University in 2010 and shortly thereafter became a founding member of the ensemble- driven Rapidfire Bootleg Theater. Based in Brooklyn as a collective, we all took turns producing, directing, designing, and performing in each production. RBT produced everything from immersive, full productions of both original and classic works to nights of piano sing-alongs and storytelling. Staged readings of Pulitzer Prize winners one month, an original cabaret the next.After joining Voice Forward Studios to hone my voice over skills, I was introduced to Larry Moss and became a member of his acting studio, where I learned invaluable lessons about life, love, and acting.

As I continue on this path and even as I type this now, I just can’t wait for the next script, the next rehearsal, the next fitting. But even more so--the next conversation, the next spark of genius I can witness, and the next bout of laughter I can share with good people telling good stories. I’m currently based in NYC and doing a swell job keeping my silk plants alive.
